Pipeline Drillers Group recently undertook the Aura and Harmony Water Trunk Infrastructure Project on the Sunshine Coast — a key component in supporting the region’s growing residential and commercial developments. This significant project involved the completion of seven Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) bores, each contributing to the installation of critical infrastructure designed to improve service reliability and capacity within the area.

Building on our previous success delivering complex sewerage rising mains in the same region, this project once again required careful planning and technical precision to navigate unexpected subsurface conditions, including variable ground formations and isolated hard zones. Leveraging our extensive HDD experience, we implemented adaptive drilling methodologies and real-time decision-making to maintain production efficiency while protecting asset integrity.

In addition to the technical challenges, the project’s proximity to residential developments, environmentally sensitive areas, and existing utilities demanded close coordination with multiple stakeholders. Through proactive communication, effective traffic and environmental management, and disciplined site operations, Pipeline Drillers Group successfully minimised community disruption and delivered the works safely, on time, and to specification.
