In its second season on the Longford to Long Island Point Pipeline Replacement project, Pipeline Drillers has installed a total of 3,000 metres of 14 inch steel and 3,000 metres of 160mm HDPE at six locations in 30 days.

The client, NACAP Australia a Quanta Services Company, which is constructing the new $400 million 187 kilometre pipeline, has reported both it and its client ESSO are extremely pleased with the efficient and safe delivery of Horizontal Directional Drilling by Pipeline Drillers.

Pipeline Drillers Managing Director John Whitbread said the two horizontal directional drilling teams did a brilliant job.

“Our two experienced crews led by Brett Whitbread and Brett McMeekin, successfully completed the 12 bores in clay, rock and other than rock conditions in just 12 rig shifts,” said John Whitbread.

Pipeline Drillers’ crew including its Herrenknecht 250 and Vermeer 330, return to Longford in Victoria this week to complete the 13th and final installation.
