Pipeline Drillers Group were tasked with assisting Unitywater with the construction of two major new sewerage mains on the Sunshine Coast. The new mains involved the construction of a 2.5 kilometer sewerage main from Caloundra Road along Nicklin Way, and a 3.2 kilometer main from Mountain Creek along Kawana Way to Kawana Sewage Treatment Plant. The project consisted of one of the largest bores constructed in Australia, being a 1.6 kilometre bore installing 900mm HDPE. The project presented its unique challenges in the unexpected ground conditions, which proved no feat for the skills and knowledge of the Pipeline Drillers team. PDG also overcame the challenges presented by the locality of the project, with the prompt response to and assistance with the needs and expectations of various stakeholders, whilst limiting community impacts.
