Manning River Crossing
Eire | Manning River, NSW | Aug – Nov 2025
Scope
Installation of a 560mm water transport pipeline beneath the
Manning River using HDD, comprising a single bore of 724m.
Challenges
The crossing required steel casing installation using a hammer drill, together with ParaTrack beacon steering to maintain bore alignment. Delivery also involved complex site and stakeholder management, including traffic and noise controls.
Outcome
The 724m HDD crossing was completed to enable installation of the water transport pipeline beneath the Manning River. The works were delivered using a controlled approach suited to the site and stakeholder requirements, providing a more resilient solution for the town of Wingham following flood damage to the existing water supply and reducing the risk of future flood impacts.
